As you probably know by now, losing weight isn’t as easy as taking a magic pill, eating whatever you want and hoping for the best. It takes work, commitment, and willpower. But even if you’re doing everything right, such as exercising a few times a week and following a proper diet, your body may still struggle and hold onto that excess weight, especially if you’re over the age of fifty. While we can’t offer you a magic pill to help you get rid of excess weight, we do have a solution to your problem and it involves the combination of the HCG hormone and a low-calorie diet.
HCG Shots to Boost the Metabolism
In America alone, currently, one-third of the population is struggling with obesity. If you fall into this category, then the odds are you’re still searching for a weight loss solution that works. HCG injections have proven to be effective in aiding in the weight loss process, whether a person needs to lose five pounds or fifty. These HCG shots can be the boost you need in order to jumpstart your metabolism and turn your body into a fat burning machine.
Why HCG Treatment?
Before you order an HCG injection kit, you need to become familiar with HCG, what it is and how it works. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a type of hormone that’s produced during pregnancy. In its pure form it’s known as glycoprotein and basically consists of two hundred amino acids. While it’s commonly believed that only pregnant women produce this hormone, both non-pregnant women and men produce very low levels of this hormone throughout their life.
In men, this hormone is produced in very low levels in the testicles. The level is so low that its barely detectable, however it exists to help support the creation of testosterone. In women, higher levels of this hormone are produced in the placenta when a woman is pregnant.
HCG shots or HCG diet injections are often prescribed for weight loss in people who have an ongoing struggle with obesity. However, you can also buy HCG injections online, without a prescription.
Commonly the average dose is around two hundred IU daily. This is a subcutaneous injection, much like insulin injections in diabetics. The shot is administered in the fatty areas of the body such as the upper arms, stomach, thigh, or buttocks. Because it is a subcutaneous shot, you don’t have to have a trained medical professional administer the injection.
Does it Really Work?
There has been some debate regarding whether or not these injections are effective for weight loss, with some experts claiming that any weight loss experienced during treatment is a result of following the low-calorie HCG diet. While the low-calorie diet definitely plays an important role in weight loss, this HCG treatment enables the dieter to maintain their lean muscle mass, boosts the metabolism, curbs the appetite, and helps with weight maintenance.
When you follow a low-calorie diet combined with daily injections of HCG, it can help to ensure that only fat is lost, instead of muscle, giving users a much better chance of keeping the fat off for the long-term.
HCG Injections Combined with a Low-Calorie Diet
As we mentioned, the HCG injections are only part of this diet program. You also need to strictly follow a low-calorie diet during treatment. The diet can last as little as one month or as long as two or three. Ultimately, it all depends on how much you weigh and how much weight you want to lose. The diet plan consists of four phases. By far, the second phase is the most difficult, restricting your daily calorie intake to just five hundred calories.
On your average diet, making it through a few weeks of this type of calorie restriction you’d have to fight constant cravings and deal with mood swings, irritability, and an increase in fatigue. But the HCG injections work to combat these issues. In fact, most people who tried the HCG diet protocol claimed they didn’t deal with the same irritability and constant cravings that did on a regular low-calorie diet. But just like any diet, even if you’re taking the injections, you won’t lose weight without following the meal plan portion of the program. In fact, it’s just as important as the injections themselves.

HCG Drops Vs HCG Pills
If you’re someone who simply can’t handle giving yourself a shot once a day, then you can try HCG pills or HCG drops. But there are many people who have tried the injections and are adamant that this treatment option is more effective.
In the past few years, HCG treatment, whether in the form of injections, pellets, or drops, has become pretty popular. And the reason is obvious; HCG treatment works.
Initially, many people are opposed to giving themselves injections, but once a person realizes how small the needles are and how effective this method is, they quickly change their minds.
Pellets: These rapidly dissolving pellets can be a great alternative for people who do not want to take an injection. HCG manufacturers produce various types of pellets, but aside from the fact that this form of HCG is more convenient than the shots, there are some issues you should be aware of. There have been complaints that the pellets don’t taste good or do not dissolve fast enough. However, these are problems that vary by brand.
Drops: This option is marketed as the easiest way to take HCG, but there are also dosage concerns that come into play, such as the fact that there is no set formula when it comes to administering the dosage of the drops. While some companies recommend taking five drops four times a day, others recommend taking twelve drops twice daily. Another company recommends thirty drops once daily.
Oral ingestion directions can also be confusing. Some companies instruct users to place the drops under the tongue, holding it there for one to five minutes, and others instruct users to mix it in eight ounces of water and drink it down.
Since these drops are administered with an eye dropper, it can be very difficult to accurately measure the proper dose. In its liquid form, it is easily swallowed, which means it’s not completely absorbed. For most people, holding the drops under the tongue for five minutes isn’t easy.
Injections are probably the most common method used when following the HCG protocol and this is because it was the original method used way back in the 1950s. The pellet and drop versions of HCG offer a newer, totally pain free alternative to injections, but many people swear they experience better results when injecting the HCG compared to taking the HCG orally.
When you use the drops, the HCG is placed under the tongue and absorbed through the skin, into a large vein. However, studies have found that this route isn’t as efficient as injections and because of this, you must use more of the drops or pellets to get the same type of effect. So, aside from the fact that the drops are more convenient to use, they’re also more expensive than the injections.
Additionally, with injections, you’re looking at a once daily dose, while with pellets and drops you’ll need to take HCG three times a day, which can also make it easier to forget to take a dose.
You can legally buy HCG injections online or you can purchase an HCG injection kit at a local pharmacy with a prescription from your doctor. These HCG injection kits will include the synthetic hormone and the appropriate syringes. Before you give yourself the first injection your doctor will run through the procedure with you and provide you with a chart of the different injection site options. It’s important to rotate injection sites with each dose in order to prevent bruising and pain at the injection site.
These injections are done with the use of small insulin needles that are only half an inch long, with a twenty-nine millimeter or thirty-one-millimeter gauge. Because you’ll use small gauged needles, the shots are basically painless.
You’ll inject yourself with HCG just once daily, usually first thing in the morning. You’ll use each needle one time only, so the HCG injection kit you purchase should come with enough needles for each day of the diet.
Adjusting the Dosage
Often, determining the dosage can be difficult and will vary from person to person. If you take prescription HCG, your doctor will prescribe the dose, but if you buy HCG injections online, you may need to do a little experimenting. Dosage size for one person may not work for the next. A key indicator that you’re not taking enough HCG is hunger. Studies have found that lower doses of HCG in some patients caused severe hunger, while the right dose works to suppress the appetite.
This can also affect how much HCG you must buy during the course of treatment. If you take the high two hundred IU dosage one large five hundred IU vial can provide enough HCG for a period of twenty-five days. If you take a dose of one hundred and twenty-five IU, the vial can last around forty days.
Length of Treatment
The length of treatment is thirty days on the low-calorie diet and forty days of injections. If you still have weight to lose at the end of the forty days, you can choose to do another round of the injections and diet plan. In fact, multiple rounds of treatment are common in severely obese users. However, between each round, you must take a break.
Dr. Simeon, who is responsible for studying the effects of the HCG hormone in the 1950s, found that people started to gain the weight back if they stopped treatment before twenty-three days. Because of this, he felt that treatment should last at least three weeks in order to experience the full benefits of the treatment.
On the other hand, treatment lasting longer than forty days (or forty injections) is not recommended. Studies found that with longer treatment, the HCG began to lose its effectiveness, which is why a break between rounds is suggested.
If you’ve completed one round of treatment, you must take a three-week break before beginning another round. This will give the adrenal glands a rest, allowing your hormone levels to stabilize and make the next round of treatment more effective.
During this break, try to focus on healthy eating and steer clear of processed foods, food that contains trans fats, and sugar, avoid using cooking oils, drinking alcohol, and any type of food that’s loaded with more than ten carbs per serving.
The goal here is to maintain your current weight loss results. If you’re not careful during this time you’ll risk gaining back the weight you lost during the first round, essentially ruining all of your hard work. Try to stay within the fifteen hundred to two thousand calories a day range.
If you’re ready for the next round but you’ve been eating a lot of processed foods, we recommend a detox a few days before the first phase of the program begins.
This second round of treatment will be much easier for you, since you know what to expect, what foods you can and can’t have, and great low-calorie meals you can prepare with each phase.
